A claw of lightening tears through the sky,
Reaching for the Earth,
Greedy for what it can't have.

It emits a shriek,
Begining a fearful descent,
Tearing clouds in two.

The clouds rumble and moan,
Crying out thier distaste for all to hear.
The lightening, upon hearing, stops.

It waits.
Listening.
Silence.

As quick as it had come,
It disapears.
Gone.
All hopes of touching Earth lost.
Leaving a pool of despair.

An empty sky.
Filled with clouds,
Still mumbling thier disgrace.
Then silence.
